About

Mix a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel, add a dash of Monty Python, and you have this intriguing, thrilling, riotous, and unmissable comedy. The show hurtles a notorious fugitive and a spellbound blonde from a London music hall north by northwest to Scotland’s most remote Highlands. Will they save Britain from a den of devious spies?

A cast of four actors plays over 150 characters in this fast-paced tale of an ordinary man on an extraordinarily entertaining adventure. The 39 Steps contains every single legendary scene from the award-winning movie — including the chase on the Flying Scotsman, the escape on the Forth Bridge, the first theatrical bi-plane crash ever staged, and the sensational, death-defying finale in the London Palladium.

Letter From Director

For over 100 years, since the first publication of The 39 Steps in novel form in 1915, people have been getting caught up in the madcap adventures of Mr. Richard Hannay. What is it about our unlikely hero that holds such appeal? Is it his derring-do, his clever escapes, his charming pencil mustache? Certainly, in part. I think, though, that perhaps the answer lies in the immensely relatable circumstances in which we first meet our protagonist: bored, unsure of his place in the world, and bogged down by the minutiae of daily life. Luckily for Hannay (and perhaps you), a bold escapade and thrilling romance are as close at hand as a night out to the local theater. So, please sit back and enjoy our take on this classic tale! Who knows? Your own grand adventure may be waiting just around the corner.
